Lollipop & Cake Pop Sticks for Confectioners and Bakeries
A lollipop stick has to take molten sugar at temperature and still be straight when it cools.
That is a harder job than it sounds. Hot deposited candy will warp a stick that still holds moisture, and a stick that bends in the mould gives you a lollipop that will not sit in the wrapper or the display. It is also why lolly sticks are cut thick relative to their width — 3 mm thick on a 4 mm width — so they resist twisting rather than relying on being wide.
The 3.5 inch is the standard hard-candy lollipop stick and what most depositing lines run. The 4.5 inch is the cake pop and premium artisan size, long enough to hold comfortably and to clear a display stand. The 6 inch is for oversized novelty lollies, gift sweets and corporate favours. All three are flat rectangular, sanded, food-grade poplar.

Will your sticks warp when hot candy is deposited on them?
Not if the wood is dry, which is the whole point of kiln-drying before cutting rather than after. Warping is a moisture problem, not a dimension problem.
Which size is right for cake pops?
The 4.5 inch. It gives enough length to hold and to stand in a display without the pop looking top-heavy. The 6 inch works for oversized pops and gift presentation.
Can you cut a custom length for our wrapper?
Yes, once the quantity justifies the setup. Send us the length you need and your annual volume and we will tell you whether it is worth doing.
Are these food-grade?
Yes. Poplar is the standard wood for food-contact sticks worldwide. Ours are kiln-dried, sanded splinter-free and supplied unbleached; bleaching is available on request.
