The kulfi teela has to carry weight that an ice-cream stick never sees. A frozen matka or malai kulfi is dense, and a thin or brittle stick splits, splinters or pulls out of the set kulfi at the cart. Our teela is cut from food-grade poplar at 10-12mm wide and 2.5-3.0mm thick — flat, rectangular and rigid enough to anchor heavy kulfi and survive the pull-out without snapping.
